'Let it glow' Pur Minerals Mini's review | Blush, Bronzer and Highlighter sticks

Pur Mini's review

Hi beauties!

One thing I feel would make a great stocking stuffer for the beauty lovers, or christmas present for those on a budget is the pur mini's set I recently picked up.

I believe the set was around $10, and is great value, including a cream stick blush, bronzer and highlighter, each at 4.8 grams per tube. They make super cute minis, but are also practical because it gives you a chance to use up product before it goes off.

So far I feel these products are great quality, and I love the underlying shimmer they have to them, they are perfect for summer (as is coming up in New Zealand) due to the cream formula that helps to keep skin moisturised. However they are also wearable for winter and fall, with the products falling in a deeper colour range, they would go beautifully with a berry lip.

The packaging is also adorable:

Overall I would really recommend this product as a sweet were stocking filler for christmas, or for yourself! ;)

Marbled plate DIY

Marbled plate DIY

Hi Beauties!

So today I tried out some DIY which was super simple but really effective!

To create these marble plates you will need:
-Plain plate or saucer (you could use other things as well)
-Plastic container you don't mind ruining
-Kebab sticks
-Nail polish of multiple colours

Fill your container with water and begin to drop in blobs of nail polish, I recommend doing this quickly if you are using multiple colours at once. Once you're happy dip your plate into the water in a scooping motion that pulls the nail polish cover onto the front of the plate. Repeat this as many times as you please, and use the kebab sticks to swirl patterns and to scoop excess polish of the surface.  Leave to dry for a little when its done.

I am in love with these and am thinking about making a few more, and some smaller ones as ring or soap holders!

HOW TO: Using green concealer

Using green concealer

Hi beauties!

I feel as though green concealer is one of those products that comes back in and out of popularity, and leaves a lot of people questioning the correct way to apply it. The following is the way I have found works best, and would recommend!

The green works to cancel out redness on the face, especially around the nose and rosy cheek area (of course everyone is beautiful with redness as well, you are beautiful the way you are!) Apply it as you would a concealer (you can do this before or after foundation, dependant on how much coverage you require). If you are using it to cancel the redness of a fresh spot or acne, I would recommend taking a bit on your finger, or using a brush you plan to wash, as this prevents the spread of acne and bacteria.

After application, blend out and place concealer overtop to blend the green out, so it doesn't look unusual. If you are having trouble tracking one down try online!

Creating a base for your face | Foundation, Concealer and Powder routine

Creating a base for your face

Hi beauties!

So lately I've had a lot of people ask me how to correctly set their face so that their foundation lasts for longer, applies easier and so they don't need to replace their foundation as often. This is the method that i use everyday and would recommend if you find yourself struggling with any of these issues!

Step 1: Pore Control

The first step I take when putting on my make up (after moisturiser) is to put on a pore filler to smooth over pores and make foundation application easier.

Step 2: Primer

I really recommend a primer for those who find their foundation doesn't last long enough, or they end up using too much product, too fast. Primers are also a great way to protect the skin from all the products you put on it.

Step 3: Foundation

I personally prefer a flat top brush for applying foundation as I find them the most effective, easiest and that it leaves the nicest finish. When applying foundation try to make sure you apply evenly and leave no obvious streaks or overuse the product. Alternatively, if you find a foundation too heavy, or are looking for a lighter day look, I would suggest a BB cream, which you can apply in much the same manner as foundation.

Step 3:Concealer

A very important point with concealer is to put it on after foundation, as putting it on before is pretty ineffective, and just ends up in an overuse of product, but this is a very easy mistake to make!

Step 4: Powder

Powder is a really important step in creating a base, and should be applied after foundation/concealer (although some people do prefer to apply after blush, bronzer, ect). Powder should be used to set everything in place, and helps to keep your liquid products from moving. If you find you have trouble keeping your foundation from creasing or settling into fine lines I absolutely suggest a powder. If you find a powder adds more coverage than you are looking for, try a translucent powder!

Hope this helps, and thanks for reading!
