Your Ultimate Guide to Valentines Day ♥

Gift guide for Valentine's day

Getting the perfect gift for valentines gets harder every year, especially for the person who has it all!
Hopefully, these tips will you give you some ideas yo make your life that little bit easier, and help you to score the perfect gift for that someone special.

1. Easy Gifts

 ♥  Flowers

This one is pretty obvious and easy, but is definitely a winner. If they tell you they don't want anything for Valentines day, its better to play it safe and get them a bunch of flowers. They don't have to be expensive, but that way they know you were thinking of them

 ♥  Chocolate

Because, who doesn't love chocolate?

2. Thoughtful Gifts

Gifts that show you've put in that extra bit of thought and effort

 ♥ Photo book/albulm/calendar/scrapbook

Things like this are really easy to create now either online, or in stores that have photo printing machines. A gift like this is a really great way to highlight the memories you have together, the photos you've accumulated, or perhaps you could create an album full of photos from a recent holiday.

 ♥  Engraved Jewellery

Try going the extra step, and instead of simply purchasing  a locket, slave bangle or ring, why not get something meaningful engraved on it? Engraving can be reasonably priced, so why not get your initials, the date you met or began dating/were married, ect, or your names?

 ♥ Photo frame

A framed photo of you both in a carefully selected frame is defiantly an easy, but thoughtful gift, and is a great idea if you haven't been dating too long and didn't want to go overboard with the presents.

 ♥ Personalised key rings

Another sweet idea is to select a plain key ring and get it engraved with a meaningful quote, date or symbol. If you don't want to stick to boring shapes why not spice it up a bit. Choose a circle/moon like key ring and have inscribed 'I love you to the moon and back', or a guitar pick that states 'I pick you'. These are really popular on etsy, if you are looking for some more ideas. You could even go for matching key rings, that fit together.

3. DIY Gifts

 ♥ 'I love you jar'

Grab yourself a mason jar, or whatever container you have and fill it up with bits of paper that list all the reasons you love your valentine. You can decorate the jar with ribbon, glitter or however you choose, and this sweet present will remind them of all the reasons you love them whenever they pull out a note

 ♥ 'For when you...' Letters

Write enough letters for a week, or however long you chose, and seal them each up in their own labelled envelope. When you write the letters, give each  distinct theme, so that your valentine can read it when they feel in need. Some ideas include, 'for when your feeling lonely...' write them a letter telling them how much you love them. 'For when your feeling sad..' write them a happy letter, and pop some small things in the envelope to cheer them up. This gift is a great idea for long distance relationships, and really demonstrates how much you care.

 ♥ Home-made Vouchers

This is a really inexpensive gift, and is super easy to make. Simply take your voucher shaped strips of card (that you have cut and decorated earlier), and add your own personalised voucher onto it. You might like to use 'one free back massage', or 'one romantic dinner', the ideas are endless!

 ♥ Baking

Baking your valentine cookies, cupcakes or a cake is a  super simple valentines gift, and also another great one if you haven't been dating long and don't want to go over the top. Cookies are a really great idea, as they can be decorated into Valentines themes, such as heart shapes or with pink/ red icing.

4. Activities

 ♥ Picnic

If you would rather make the effort go take your Valentine out, rather than purchase gifts, why not put together a picnic and surprise them with it at your favourite location, or a local park. If you go on a weekend you could also go around the local markets.

 ♥ Movie night

Grab tickets to the movies to see a film you have both been wanting to watch, or snuggle up at home with a line up of all your favourite DVDS. If you want to go the extra mile set up an indoor/outdoor movie theater, with blankets rugs, and maybe even a fort.

I hope this has helped give you some ideas for Valentines day!
